Program note

Bob Dylan's elegant and moving text to his song "Forever Young" was the inspiration for this setting. It appears as the last song of my cycle "Mr. Tambouring Man: Seven Poems of Bob Dylan," and I set it as simply as a folk song. Later on, I provided this transcription for solo soprano and a cappella chorus. John Corigliano
